What is a good online education course for today's job market?

Question: What is a good online education course for today's job market?

Thinking about taking some courses online. My work experience is well, a little irregular (customer service, seafood processor), and I am ready for a career change, but am leery of all the 'online' courses offered..has anyone completed one and been successful with the job placement afterword?

On-line colleges and education is becoming more and more popular these days, especially for full time workers such as your self who does not have the time or can not afford to go back to school the normal, old-school way. You have evry right to be a bit leery because there is an abundance of on-line colleges out there who are really not who they say they are. These are the ones that issues diploma mills that has no value. However on the other hand, there are some valuable and loyal schools out there that offers on-line courses and programs to help you advance in your career or do a career change. Devry, Heald College, Kaplan University, Embry Ridlle Aeronautical University, University of Phoenix are only a few mention of these schools that awards a reputable and accreditted college degree through their on-line programs. Do a Google search for on-line courses and on-line colleges. You'll be surprised on what you will find. Just make sure that you review and validate their credentials and make sure that the school is listed under the Department of Education. I have taken many on-line courses throughout my college years. My B.S. degree from Embry Riddle were mainly on-line, and both my M.S. degrees were from an on-line school. I am now a Safety Engineer and let me tell you the truth; I could not have done all the schooling I needed for my career without the help of on-line schooling, since I was working full time while attending school. I am currently working on my PhD (also an on-line program through the University of Phoenix) and again, could not have done it without the on-line programs. You have every right to be leery. But most employers these days understands the situation of our tight economy, and they understand the need for professionals to maintain and keep their careers while going to school. This also shows employers that you have courage and commitment, and that you are taking extra initiatives to advance and succeed in your career. So if you are asking whether employers would prefer someone who graduated from a traditional school or an on-line school? The answer is "IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER " Take this from someone who has been there and has done it. It turned out that I was pretty successful at it. You can do it too. = )
