Are online degrees frowned upon by employers?
I don't really want to go back to school to get my MBA but since I travel so much for my job I am afraid that that I would miss classes. I currently have my bachelors degree in accounting. My question is....will employers think less of the fact that I went to an online college? And which colleges have the most respected programs?
How do you view online degrees?
I am currently working on a BS degree in construction engineering technology through the University of Southern Mississippi which is regionally accredited. The upper division courses are all online and generals will be completed at a local community college. The degree is accredited through ACCE and ABET which is just like any construction degree at the campus. I do have a construction and architectural drafting background. How do employers and the general public view online degrees if they are from real universities?? Will it be weird if my degree is earned in another state as my work experience?? What do you think of my situation?? Should I complete my degree online or will I be wasting my time?? Should I enroll at a campus instead??
Are online degrees becoming more acceptable?
Thinking about getting an online MBA from Texas A& M Commerce. They are AACSB accredited. I know they offer the classes at a physical location and online, but would prefer the online route due to work.
Is there a REAL University with online degrees?
I would like to get a Bachelors in Business Administration Accounting degree. Of course, I am a wife, and work full time, and really don't have the time to go to a campus university. I would, but at the income my husband and I make, we wouldn't be able to keep up on our bills. So I am trying to find a degree that I can get entirely online. I am very skeptical about all those ONLINE schools, I really want a degree that employers are going to respect. Does anyone have any answers for me?
Traditional colleges with online degrees?
I know there are many online degree programs out there University of Phoenix, American University, and a host of others , but does anybody know of a good website to help find traditional brick and mortar universities that offer some degree programs online? Typing in online college into google always brings up the same usual suspects.I'm looking for an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in computer science, with 100 % online curriculum. Thanks in advance.
Are online degrees looked down upon compared to traditional degrees?
I currently attend the University of Phoenix and I sometimes feel embarrassed to tell people because everyone knows this is a predominantly online college, I know this sounds silly but it makes me wonder if employers will not take it as seriously as a degree received with ground classes.
Are online degrees respected by businesses?
I have some doubt about getting a online degree, because I don't think businesses will take people seriously who have online degrees. But it certainly would fit my schedule since I work 45 50 hours a week. I need to get out of my dead end job
"Little or No study" online degrees?
A few people that I work with, have received degrees from online schools Strayer, Excelsior, etc.. which required them just to pay money to receive the degree with little or no study, no tests, etc.. The degrees are supposedly " Accredited" . Unfortunately our employer, gives them full credit for obtaining these degrees. Should I do it too? I've obtained my Bachelor's degree the old fashioned way...it was difficult but I learned a lot. I don't really have the time to get a Master's degree the right way, but I still need to be competitive... I have read articles that say " Don't be a victim of the online paper mills" but it seems like the real victims are the people who DON'T do it.. Should I just drop the money down for the degree? I need to DO something to stay ahead...thanks for your commments but as i mentioned my employer gives them full credit for these degrees, pay raise, promotions ,etc...so to my employer and I'd bet many others they are not worthless
Online Degree in Animal Science / Ethology ?
Hi. I am interested in pursuing a degree in ethology animal behavior science. I am a parent to a very young child and wife to a man who's job keeps the family on the move, however and so it would be best for me to take classes online. I am having a heck of a time trying to find any online degrees even close to what I am looking for. I really want it to be a DEGREE I am about to receive my career diploma in wildlife management . It would mean the world to me to have more than just a certificate and hopefully a bachelors degree from an accredited online college. I definitely want it to be a degree that will help earn me a career working with wild animals. Not veterinary medicine. More like researching, etc. PLEASE, if any of you have any advise on a degree of this kind or something close that I could get online, please share. This means the world to me. Thanks
