I found a perfect degree that I could get online from the University of Advanced Technology. uat.edu UATOnline There are several reasons I don't want to go there physically, such as their location. Should I consider taking it online? And would financial aid etc. still work the same?

On the FAFSA, what's my parent's "highest level of school completed" if they have a non-accredited degree?
My mom completed an associate's degree several years ago, but it turned out that her school was not even accredited. When the FAFSA asks the highest level of school she completed, would that be a case of " high school" because the " college and beyond" doesn't even seem to count , or perhaps just other unknown? I'm leaning unknown, but I tend to hate leaving anything like that without a definite answer.Thanks to everyone who's answered so far. I wasn't sure, and the consensus seems solid, so I couldn't ask for more.Although some further reading reveals that I might be stupid.It didn't even occur to me that a lot of my mom's information isn't relevant my parents are divorced dad's remarried yadda yadda yadda . What about for this question, then? I get that it's about first generation scholarships and such, but does have more to do with biology or your actual " household?"

I am looking for colleges that have accredited degrees that are specialized for video game development like USC,Becker, and Depaul.I am preferably looking for a 4 year college and then getting my masters.

Is an accredited degree *really* that important?
I'm currently studying Computer Systems Engineering. I like the program, but I know for a fact that I don't want to be designing processors or developing circuits when I graduate. I'm a rising Junior, and this year requires some courses that aren't exactly a walk in the park, and I won't benefit from taking them. I enjoy software much more. I'm working for a consulting firm this summer doing web development, which has only confirmed my interest in software dev.My university offers a program called " Build your own major" or something similar. It's basically an unaccredited degree program that some students use to develop a more customized academic career. I am considering this option very seriously, but I'm afraid that the unaccredited nature of my degree would haunt me forever. Would you, as an employer, be turned away by a degree without accreditation? Do you think that there is a strong preference for accreditation throughout the consulting engineering industry? Note that I have two years of Engineering coursework under my belt, and if I plan to take the " Build Your Own" approach, I would stick a lot of software and networking courses into the curriculum. I really want to focus on what I want to learn I know I'll never be using a lot of the material in the Engineering curriculum.Then again, I suppose an accredited " Engineering" degree has a certain ring to it. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, BUT the communications department lost it's accreditation so the mass comm. degree there is no longer accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. So my question is does it really matter that the communications dept. isn't accredited as long as the university itself is? Is it worth transferring over? Do employers really look at that anyway?
